Out of all the holidays throughout the year Thanksgiving Day is the one I look forward to the most. Good food, a football game and a chance to socialize with the family. I don’t have to worry about buying presents, or how much they liked them. I do what I love to do, which is preparing the Thanksgiving feast, watching the football game, and enjoying the company.
There was a time in my life that I use to be away from home driving truck when thanksgiving day came around I could be over a 1000 miles away and would push the limit to get home on time. If I couldn’t get home quick enough my son would start brining the turkey before I got there, and it always turned out fine. Right now here in Upper Michigan the snow is blowing and I am like a kid waiting for Christmas, but it’s not Christmas, its thanksgiving and I can’t wait; it’s only a week and a half away.
So when Thanksgiving day gets here, cook some food, sit back and relax, maybe watch a football game, but above all enjoy the food, and the company, during the most stress less holiday of the whole year.
Below you will find a list of some of my favorite recipes that my son and I have prepared on Thanksgiving Day.
