Grilled
Wow! This summer is going by so fast it is hard for me to believe. We are looking at preseason foot ball just a couple of weeks from now, and the kids will be going back to school a couple of weeks after that. I hope you are having a great summer!
I grill throughout the whole year, but needless to say I like to step it up during the nice weather. The last couple days here in Upper Michigan were beautiful with temps in the 80’s and low humidity, so I decided to fire up the grill again and try this Grilled Cheddar Beef Burgers Recipe. This is another simple recipe with very little prep time. The steak sauce adds a unique flavor and gives the burger a nice moist texture, add this with the cheese, pepper and onion, and it makes for a great tasting grilled burger. Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1/3 cup steak sauce (divided-I used A-1)
1 medium onion (sliced)
1 medium green pepper (cut into strips)
1 tablespoon butter
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
4 tomato slices
Directions
1. Using your hands in a medium bowl mix 3 tablespoons of steak sauce with the burger. Shape into 4 burgers and set aside.
2. In a medium skillet using the butter cook the onion and green pepper until tender. Stir in the remaining stake sauce; keep on warm.
3. Grill burgers on medium heat for about 4 minutes on each side or to your desired doneness. Just before burgers are finished cooking toast the buns on the grill, cover the burgers with cheese and cook until cheese is melted.
4. To serve place 2 tablespoons of the onion pepper mixture on the bun, followed by the burger, top with a slice of Tomato, then onion and peppers again.
Serve with fries or chips.
