For as long as I can remember, even back into childhood we have had spaghetti at least once a week for dinner. My kids are grown up and gone off to college, but old habits die hard. My wife and I decided it was time to have spaghetti so I decided to cook one of my son’s favorite spaghetti sauce recipes. (Blogchef.net). This recipe is simple and delicious and once we tried it; it has became one of our favorites. For this meal we added hot butter milk biscuits, it also goes great with garlic toast. Enjoy

Ingredients

1 LB burger or ground chuck

1 (14oz) can crushed tomatoes

1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion (diced)

10 cloves of garlic (minced)

Salt

Pepper

1 tablespoon oregano

1 teaspoon basil (can use fresh if available, double the amount)

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

2 teaspoons sugar

½ cup red wine (we use cherry)

Directions

1. Add the oil to a fry pan, add garlic and onion and sauté for 30 seconds.

2.  Add and brown the ground beef and drain if needed.

3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes and add all the seasoning, then add the wine and sugar, salt and pepper to taste.

4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer till done. I would recommend 30 minutes to an hour for the flavors to blend.

Serve over hot spaghetti
