This recipe is very simple and quick to prepare if you are in a rush. I think this could very easily feed four people. I don’t cook with tuna a lot, I guess this Simple Tuna Casserole Recipe caught my eye. It was well worth the effort and the family enjoyed it. I guess that is what it is all about. Give this a try you wont regret it.

1 lb of egg noodles
4 Tablespoons of butter
4 tablespoons of flour
2 teaspoons of salt
2 cups of milk
2 cups cheddar cheese
2 regular size cans of Tuna ( 5 oz )
1 small can of peas ( 15 oz )

1. Cook egg noodles to” al dente” stage. Drain and Rinse
2. In a sauce pan combine butter, flour, salt and 2 cups of milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring  constantly until the sauce thickens. Add the cheese and continue stirring until the cheese has melted.
3. In a large bowl combine the cheese sauce, egg noodles, peas and tuna.

4. Spread the mixture into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish and bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until heated thoroughly. At this point I topped with more cheese and returned the casserole to the oven till the cheese was melted. This step is optional. Enjoy

  1. I love tuna casserole recipes and this looks fantastic! Might I suggest using Wild Planet’s sustainable canned tuna? Since we fish using sustainable practices and source from pristine waters, our albacore has less Mercury and more Omega 3s than the leading national brands. We also pack them in their own natural juices, making for a fantastic flavor! Thanks again for the post, looking forward to following!
