Stuffed Pork Chops Recipe

I have looked at stuffed pork chops in the meat counter a number of times and kept thinking one of these days I’m going to make them. I was searching for recipe and came across this Stuffed Pork Chops Recipe and decided to put it on the menu. This is a simple recipe that doesn’t require a lot of prep time or ingredients. The stuffing is put together using bread crumbs rather than the traditional croutons. I thought this recipe was pretty good, and my wife loved it. The chops came out tender and moist, and the stuffing had a good combination of flavors.

Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons chopped celery leaves
  • 2 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 1/ 2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1⅓ cup chicken broth (divided)
  • 2 tablespoon minced fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 4 pork loin chops (1-1/4 inches thick)

Instructions
  1. Chop the onion and celery. In a small skillet using 2 tablespoon butter Saute the onion and celery until tender.

  3. In bowl combine the sauteed onion, celery, and ⅔’s cup chicken broth.
  4. Butterfly the chops slicing down from the outside, almost to the bone, to form a pocket.

  6. Pack the stuffing into the 4 chops and secure with tooth picks.
  7. In a large skillet using the rest of the butter brown the chops on both sides.
  8. Place the chops in a casserole dish, or roasting pan, pour the rest of the chicken broth over the chops, and bake for 40 minutes until juices run clear, or to an internal temperature of 145F.
  9. Remove the chops and use the juices to make gravy.
  10. Serve Hot

Sometimes I like to take a break and pick a pizza up from the store or local restaurant. This time I decided to just pick up the ingredients and put a homemade pizza together. I have to admit I did cheat a little bit by purchasing a ready-made crust. The toppings for this pizza are pretty basic so you can add whatever you like to the topping ingredients. I followed the recipe as written and we really enjoyed this Sausage Pan Pizza dish.

Ingredients
  • ½ pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1½ cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 2 medium Roma tomatoes (diced)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1- can refrigerated pizza crust (or your favorite crust recipe)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. In a medium size skillet brown the Italian sausage with the mushrooms until sausage is no longer pink inside. Then mix in the pizza sauce and add the diced tomatoes. Cover to keep warm.
  3. Shape the pizza dough into a 12 inch cast iron, or oven proof skillet, working it half way up the sides. Bake for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the pizza crust from the oven and fill the crust by spreading 1¾ cups shredded mozzarella cheese over the bottom. Then spoon in the sausage mixture, and top with the remaining cheese.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
  6. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Chicago Hot Dog

 

I was so excited when I was chosen by Glam and Hebrew National hot dogs to host a hot dog party. All Hot Dogs are not created equal, and it doesn’t matter how good the hot dog recipe is; if you don’t have a good all beef hot dog when you create it, you may not like the results.  Hebrew National Prides itself on being made with premium cuts of 100 percent kosher beef.

In my opinion they lived up to their name. The quality was excellent, and combined with the Three of the Best Hot Dog Recipes below where delicious. Usually when we have hot dogs at a party or cook out I will concentrate on one Hot Dog Recipe, but I took this opportunity to present all three. The Chicago Style Hot Dog Recipe is my son’s favorite because it is covered with delicious condiments, my Wife loves the Nacho Dogs Recipe, because of the homemade Guacamole topping, combined with the sliced pickled jalapeno slices. For me I like all three, but the Frito Dogs recipe is my favorite. The combination of a good hot dog, grilled, than covered with chili, cheese, and corn chips, is an excellent combination.

I have created all three recipes in recipe format so you can print them all, or just one at a time as you choose.

Nacho Dogs Recipe

Ingredients

4 all beef hot dogs

4 hot dogs buns

1 (9 ounce) container nacho cheese dip

1/4 cup onion (chopped)

Pickled jalapeno slices

Chunky Salsa

Ingredients for Guacamole-

2 ripe avocados (flesh scooped out and pitted)

1/4 cup cilantro

Juice of 1 lime

1 garlic clove (minced)

Salt (to taste)

Directions

1. For the guacamole- using a large bowl add avocados. Add lime juice, and mash together with a fork. Stir in garlic, cilantro, and salt to taste. Cover and refrigerate until needed.

Step 2: Heat an outdoor grill or over a camp fire (or in indoor grill pan) cook hot dogs until they are slightly charred on the outside.

3.  Heat nacho cheese dip according to package directions.

Step 3: Place hot dog buns onto the grill and grill until lightly toasted. Place grilled hot dogs onto the buns. Top with nacho cheese, guacamole, onion, salsa, and jalapeno slices.

Ingredients

8 all beef hot dogs

8 hot dog buns

1 (15 ounce) can chili (with beans)

1  1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1  1/2 cups Frito chips (crushed)

Pickled jalapeno slices

Directions

1. In a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat cook the chili so heated through. Keep warm.

2.  Lightly grease the grill grates of an outdoor grill (you can also use an indoor grill pan or op[en fire). Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Place hot dogs onto the grill and grill until they are slightly charred on the outside.

3. Place hot dog buns onto the grill cut side down and grill until lightly toasted.

4. Place hot dogs onto the buns. Top with chili, shredded cheese,  pickled jalapeno slices, and crushed Frito chips.

Chicago Style Hot Dogs Recipe

Ingredients

1 all-beef hot dog

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1 poppy seed hot dog bun

1 tablespoon sweet green pickle relish

1 tablespoon onion (chopped)

4 tomato wedges

1 dill pickle spear

2 sport peppers

Celery salt

Directions

1. Cook hot dog on grill or over open fire. Move them to a warming rack or warming oven. (The original Chicago styled is boiled for about 5 minutes)

2. Place hot dog on a steamed bun. Add condiments in this specific order- yellow mustard, relish, onion, tomato wedges, dill pickle spear, and celery salt. The tomatoes should be placed between the hot dog and the top of the bun. The dill pickle spear should be placed between the hot dog and the bottom of the bun.

Note: Sport peppers and poppy seed buns can be very hard to find-I substitute Sweet Banana Wax Peppers and it works out very well.

Ingredients
  • 2 medium onions (sliced)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 4 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 8 slices whole wheat bread
  • 8 slices Monterey jack cheese
  • 8 slices Canadian bacon
  • 8 slices cooked turkey
  • dill pickle slices

Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, sauté onions in 1 tablespoon of butter until tender; remove and set aside.
  2. Spread barbecue sauce on one side of four slices of bread.
  3. Layer each with one slice of cheese, 2 slices of Canadian bacon and turkey, pickles, onions, and top of with another slice of cheese.
  4. Cover with remaining slices of bread.
  5. In the same skillet over medium-low heat melt remaining butter as needed. I like to pre butter the cooking side of the bread slices with soft spread instead of melting the butter in the pan.
  6. Cook sandwiches on both sides until golden brown and cheese is melted.

There is not a lot of prep time with this recipe, and it’s done in the slow cooke,r freeing up some time for you during the day. I followed the recipe right to the letter, but there is plenty of sauce, so you could increase the amount of the hot dogs without adding anything extra. I used the extra sauce over fries for chili dogs,  it was perfect. The recipe calls for diced chilies; I used the mild; because I don’t like a lot of heat.   • 1 package hot dogs (1 pound)
  • 2 cans chili (15 ounce without beans)
  • 1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup (10¾ ounce undiluted)

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 slices fresh ginger root
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Instructions
  1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the soy sauce, oil, honey, ginger root, and garlic. Heat in microwave on medium for 1 minute, then stir. Heat again for 30 seconds, watching closely to prevent boiling.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a shallow dish. Pour soy sauce mixture over, and set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill for medium-high heat. Drain marinade from chicken into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes. Set aside for basting.
  4. Lightly oil the grill grate. Cook chicken on the prepared grill 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until juices run clear. Baste frequently with remaining marinade. Chicken will turn a beautiful golden brown.

  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce

I love macaroni and cheese so I thought I would give this Velveeta Chicken Spaghetti Recipe a try. I am not hot on something that got a lot of heat in it so I was a little cautious when I realized that the redipe called for Rotel Tomatoes, but I decided to give it a try anyway. Actually because of the large amount of other ingredients it was little spicy but not really hot. The result was a nice creamy dish with good flavor. I thought it was ok, but then to my surprise the family loved it, and that’s what counts. You can make any changes you like; I followed the recipe as it is written. If you would like it less juicy or a little creamier just use more or less chicken broth.  So if you’re looking for something a little different tonight give this Velveeta Chicken Spaghetti Recipe a try and enjoy.

Ingredients
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 (12 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (bite size cubes)
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans Rotel Tomatoes (drained)
  • 1 lb thin spaghetti
  • 1 lb Velveeta cheese (cubed)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms
  • 1 (4 ounce) can sliced black olives

Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, sauté bell pepper and onion in olive oil.
  2. Using 1 can of chicken broth with the chicken. Simmer until tender.
  3. Add the soup and Rotel tomatoes. Stir well. Simmer for about 15 minutes until chicken is done.
  4. Cook the spaghetti in boiling water until just slightly cooked “al dente. Drain, rinse, and set aside until you are ready to mix with chicken/sauce ingredients in baking dish for the oven.
  5. In a large 10 x 14 baking dish, place the cooked and cut up chicken, cooked spaghetti, chicken broth, Velveeta cheese, salt and pepper, green pepper, mushrooms, and onion; Stir well to mix all ingredients evenly.
  6. Stir once after about 15 minutes in the oven (be careful) after the cheese has had time to melt. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
  7. Garnish with sliced olives (optional)

I had to take care of some business out of town and needed something easy and quick again. I was going to out for the afternoon and wanted supper pretty much ready when I got home.   • 9 bone-in chicken thighs
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
  • 1-1/2 cups barbeque sauce
  • ½ cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
