Classic Grilled Hamburger Recipe

Grilled burgers with fresh tomatoes are always a favorite here. When I saw this Classic Grilled Hamburger Recipe I had to give it a try. The recipe looked pretty basic; but when I prepared the sauce, I was amazed at how good it was. The rest of the family confirmed this, as dinner neared an end, they were looking for more. So do yourself a favor and make some extra sauce, your family and guests will appreciate it.

This is a simple recipe and I followed the recipe as written. The only issue I had was you have to be a little careful when you first start grilling the burgers so they don’t come apart-I think this is due to the chopped onion in the recipe. Other than that, this Classic Grilled Hamburger Recipe was very good, and the family enjoyed it. Fire up the grill this weekend and give this grilled burgers recipe a try. Enjoy

  • 2 teaspoons dill pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 pound ground chuck or lean ground beef

  3. Combine the remaining 1 tablespoon ketchup, mayonnaise, relish and vinegar in a small bowl. Set aside.
  4. Mix the beef, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and cooked onion- gently combine without over mixing. Form 4 patties, about ¾ inch thick.

  6. Place burgers on toasted buns with the ketchup-mayonnaise sauce, tomato slices and lettuce.

Grilled Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers Recipe

The weather was great here for Memorial Day giving me the chance to fire up the grill again. I prepared this Grilled Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers Recipe before; but used the broiler instead of the grill, because I was out of gas. It was really good- so I decided to grill it for the Memorial Day weekend and like I expected, it came out even better using the grill. There is very little prep time, it’s a very simple recipe, and the combination of bacon and cheese flavors makes an excellent tasting bacon burger. The recipe originally called for dividing the burger to make 6. I divided it into 4 instead, for 4 quarter pounders, and it worked out perfect. If you like grilled bacon burgers give this Grilled Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers Recipe a try; you’ll save a little time by not having to cook the bacon separately. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
  1. Preheat a grill for medium high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the burger, Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, onion, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. (Mixing by hand seems to work the best for me.)
  3. Divide the burger into 4 equal amounts and form into patties.
  4. Wrap the bacon around the burger and secure in place with a tooth pick.
  5. Place patties on the grill, cook for 10 minutes per side, or until well done. Top with mozzarella cheese slices, close the grill until cheeses is melted. Remove toothpicks before serving.
  6. Serve on grill toasted buns with your choice of condiments.
