Slow Cooker Manhattan Style Clam Chowder Recipe

It’s been awhile since I have used the slow cooker; I have wanted to make Manhattan Style Clam Chowder for some time, I was pinched for time, so when I saw this slow cooker version I decided to give it a try. Manhattan style is different because it is more like a regular soup than chowder. The New England style is creamy textured whereas the Manhattan Style incorporates tomatoes into the mixture. I have always favored the New England style, but the Manhattan Style Clam Chowder is good for something different. This is a set it and forget it type of slow cooker recipe; meaning you can start cooking it in the morning, and forget about it for the rest of the day-which is great if you have a busy schedule.

This Slow Cooker Manhattan Style Clam Chowder Recipe is a simple recipe that doesn’t require a lot of prep time. The prominent seasoning in this recipe is thyme; be careful with it because it can dominate very easily or eliminate all together if you don’t care for that flavor.

If you like Manhattan Style Clam Chowder, or have never tried it before give this Slow Cooker Manhattan Style Clam Chowder Recipe a try; it’s really good. Enjoy

Slow Cooker Chili Casserole Recipe

Things were really busy around here this week so when I saw this one dish slow cooker recipe I had to give it a try. This Slow Cooker Chili Casserole Recipe is very simple to put together and you can set it and forget it for about 7 hours. When I saw this recipe I was a little nervous about it because the ingredients call for breakfast sausage, and I questioned how well breakfast sausage seasoning would go with the ingredients for chili; they went together very well. Don’t skip the addition of the cheddar cheese at the end of the recipe; it adds a lot to the flavor. Enjoy

1 pound bulk pork sausage

2 cups tomato juice

1 can chili beans (16 ounces undrained)

1 can diced tomatoes (14 1/2 ounces undrained)

1/4 cup onion (chopped)

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon prepared mustard

3/4 teaspoon salt or to taste

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (use 1/ 2 of an 8 ounce bag and save the rest for garnish on top of the casserole)

I was really tight for time but Barbeque Ribs really sounded good. When I saw this Slow Cooker Barbeque Ribs Recipe I couldn’t resist trying it. What caught my eye with this recipe is that it cooks in the oven for about a half an hour before it goes in the slow cooker. I hate to use the cliche”finger licking good”; but that’s exactly what my wife had to say about it. This is a very easy recipe to prepare and once it’s in the slow cooker you can set it and forget it. Slow Cooker Chicken with Veggies and Rice

I am having a really busy week and needed to save some time, so I chose this Slow Cooker Chicken with Veggies and Rice Recipe. It is pretty much a set it and forget it recipe with very little prep time. I was kind of hungry for chicken this week and this did the trick. I served this with rice, but it makes a terrific gravy and would also go great with mashed potatoes. The recipe calls for 6 chicken breasts, but  my wife and I were the only ones eating at home tonight so I cooked 4; but used the same amount of the other ingredients which gave us some leftovers for later in the week. The dominant spice in this recipe is thyme and it comes though rather strong; so if you don’t care for that seasoning I would cut it down or eliminate it. I have listed it as optional. If you need a good easy fix for dinner give this Slow Cooker Chicken with Veggies and Rice Recipe a try and enjoy.

Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe

I love Lasagna, except it always seems like a big project to make it. I have wanted to try Slow Cooker Lasagna, so I decided to give this Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe a try. All the ingredients looked pretty good, but I wasn’t sure how the noodles would turn out; because the Lasagna noodles are not precooked. It was a pleasant surprise. The slow cooker handled the Lasagna noodles just fine. Because you don’t have to precook the noodles, there is a lot less prep time, than when you prepare a regular Lasagna recipe. This is defiantly going in my favorite’s box as another great, prepare it, set it and forget it recipe. The next time you are working on a busy schedule, and want to come home to a nice hot meal, give this Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe a try, you and your family will love it. Enjoy
