Simple Blackberry Pie Recipe


  • Your favorite pie crust recipe for a double 9-inch crust
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup instant Tapioca
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of butter (cold)


  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Place the berries into a large bowl and gently mix in the sugar, tapioca, and lemon juice. Set aside and let stand for 15 minutes.
  3. Line a 9-inch pie plate with the pie crust and pour in the fruit mixture. Shave and arrange the butter over the top, and then cover with the other crust; sealing the edges.
  4. Cut several slits in the top crust to vent, and bake 45-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
  5. Cool and serve


Cover the edges with aluminum foil to keep the edges from over-browning
