Slow Cooker Brats with Sauerkraut Recipe

With the Super Bowl right around the corner I thought this Brats with Sauerkraut Recipe would work out great for a Super Bowl Party. This is an easy recipe with a unique blend of flavors. To be honest when I looked at the ingredients I was not so sure, but It is just Delicious and is bound to please the guests at any party. Give it a try and enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 8 uncooked bratwurst links
  • 1 can 14 oz sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and finely diced( I used Granny Smith )
  • 3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (packed)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 8 Brat buns
Instructions
  1. Arrange the Brats in the slow cooker
  2. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients.

  4. Spread the ingredients over the Brats and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until Brats are done all the way though.

    Just wanted to let you know that I tried this out yesterday and it was FANTASTIC! I’ve tried many brats & kraut recipes over the years, and my German boyfriend said it is his favorite yet! My only change was pouring a lager-style beer over top all the ingredients at the beginning, since we’re beer brat traditionalists 🙂 Thanks for the great recipe that will become a staple in our house!
