Slow Cooker Lazy Mans Ribs Recipe

Slow Cooker Lazy Mans Ribs Recipe

Things got really busy this past weekend, so busy, it’s pretty bad when it’s hard to find time to cook. With Monday not looking much better it was Slow Cooker to the rescue again. When I saw this Slow Cooker Lazy Mans Ribs Recipe, I though it looked really good. I love the way pork turns out using the slow cooker. These ribs were no disappointment, they were tender and delicious, and the gravy created by the recipe was fabulous. This is a simple recipe to prepare with almost no prep time and once it is in the slow cooker you can set it and forget for 5 to 6 hours. I served this Slow Cooker Lazy Mans Ribs Recipe with mashed potatoes and a vegetable; the family loved it. The next time you’re in the mood for ribs, or you are pinched for time, give these ribs a try and enjoy.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 Baby Back Ribs (cut into 6 to 8 pieces)
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon barbeque sauce
  • 1 teaspoon stone ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Dash of salt
  • 5 teaspoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
  1. Rub the ribs with the Cajun seasoning.
  2. Layer the ribs and onion slices in the slow cooker.
  3. In a medium bowl mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, orange juice, vinegar and molasses. Then add the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, barbeque sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and liquid smoke.
  4. Pour the mixture over the ribs. Cook on low for 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
  5. Remove the ribs to a platter and keep warm. Skim the fat off the juices and transfer to a small sauce pan. Combine the cornstarch and water until smooth and add it to the juice, cooking until it thickens; for about 2 minutes to form gravy.
  6. Serve the gravy over the ribs and mashed potatoes
