      1. This reminded of how much I love meatloaf… and that I haven’t had it in way too long. Yours looks delicious!

      2. Memoria says:

I think this is the best-looking meatloaf I have ever seen. Wow!!! This looks great.

      3. Kevin says:

That meatloaf looks nice and moist and tasty!

      4. That is some homey deliciousness you’ve got goin’ on there. Yummm…

      5. emily says:

just made this for dinner tonight–excellent!!

      6. Ken says:

I have made many meatloves. This one got a lot of compliments.

      7. Audrey says:

I made this meatloaf as my first meatloaf. I was nervous, because I didn’t want to mess up such a fundamental meal, but with this recipe I nailed it! This meatloaf was amazing! My husband said it might be the best thing I’ve ever made! I didn’t have the apple vinegar, so I left that out, and I added a dash of Worcestershire to the meat mixture, just because we love it! It turned out great!
        Thanks for the recipe. :)

      8. Tee says:

This meatloaf turned out really great. I tweaked it a little bit since I didn’t have any apple cider vinegar. Instead I used mustard and pickled jalapeno juice, also added a couple tbs of mustard to meat mixture and forgot to add milk. But it turned out so good, I really don’t know why the milk is needed.

      9. admin says:

Hi Tee- Thanks for your comment.
My guess would be the milk is added as a binder, but you are right it might not be necessary.

      10. Tracy says:

Made this for dinner. It was delicious even though I forgot the eggs =X Will make this again and won’t forget the egg!

      11. Annella says:

This is a great meatloaf – actually the BEST. My family love it. Sometimes I use turkey or pork & veal or whatever I have. It always works and it’s always delcious and moist. Thank you!

      12. Jocelyn Scott says:

Just made this tonight and it is the first meatloaf in years that we actually enjoyed eating!!! This is now my go to meatloaf recipe. I forgot to put in the onions (had them, just distracted by children) and it was still incredible. So glad you shared this!

      13. mrs. jackson 2012 says:

Note: added 1/2 tbsp-1 tbsp worcestershire sauce,
instead of 1 slice of bread I used 1 cup Italian bread crumbs,
used 2% milk instead of whole milk,
I had to add a little bit more milk as it was looking dry, maybe 3/4 cup bread crumbs is enough
sauted onions in butter until they were soft, let them cool before adding them

I made this for my husband tonight for his dinner. On the weekdays we usually don’t get to eat dinner, so I cook and he eats whenever he gets home. We haven’t been married for that long and I am a relatively new cook, so making his favorite dish, is a bit daunting. So as I was getting out of the shower I hear a knock on the door, and it’s my husband. He’s still got food in his mouth, he gives me a sweet little kiss, swallows his food, and he says “I can’t stop eating this, it’s amazing.” He even went as far as to say, that it is better than his mom’s meatloaf! Holey Moley! I can’t stop smiling =D thank you for sharing this recipe, it was super easy, juicy, tasty and it turned out so much better than the first meatloaf recipe I tried. This is going in my recipe folder for life. <3

      14. Found your recipe last week and decided it was as close as I was going to finding a really good meatloaf recipe. It was everything your blog claimed it would be. It came out just like your pictures and it was really delectable.!

      15. Mary June says:

Love this recipe! Someone gave it to me when I was recovering from surgery at home. It is excellent. Tonight I’m making it for the person who sent it to me since she just had knee surgery and can’t get around to well. Thanks!

      16. Jess says:

Do you add the brown sugar to meat mixture or then sauce?

      17. admin says:

        Add it to the sauce.

      18. Claire says:

I’ve been making this for a couple years & it’s the best! I lost my printed recipe for a while and I’m so glad I found it again!

      19. Judy U says:

Made this without the sauce, excellent!

      20. Summer says:

This meatloaf was so good!! And easy!! Which was great cuz it was my first time to cook meatloaf. I’m a beginner when it comes to cooking and I found this recipe on Pinterest. I followed the recipe exactly!! But for some reason it came out a little soupy, the meatloaf was fine but there was a lot of liquid in it and I believe it could be the grease. Not really sure but I just drained it and it was fine. What did I do wrong? Should I use leaner beef next time?? Cuz I will be making it again, the boyfriend loved it!! Thanks!!

      21. admin says:

If you think it was fat-yes i would try a leaner beef.
        Thanks for your comment.

      22. Mary says:

I make mine very similar ( I use seasoned bread crumbs) Just wanted to say to Summer: I use all that soupy goodness from the pan to make the worlds best tomato gravy that compliments the meatloaf to perfection!!!!

      23. miriam micallef says:

hi in the ingredients there are 4 tbsp ketchup and half cup ketchup,is there any mistake pls

      24. Kim Mcbride says:

Try putting 2 slices of bread in bottom of loaf pan to soak up grease. Just top with uncooked meatloaf mixture and bake. The bread soaks up all the grease. Than throw the bread slices away.

      25. admin says:

        The recipe is right.

      26. Joe Carr says:

I love to cook and I would love to learn how to make the perfect meatloft again and I will

      27. Laura says:

the 4 tbls ketchup is for the meat mixture and the 1/2 cup ketchup is for the sauce. I used panko for the breadcrumbs, omitted the onions, a splash of A1 sauce and family loved it

      28. Mary B says:

This meatloaf recipe looks delicious however is it a mistake or is this right: one slice of bread??

      29. shaniqua white says:

Can i double the recipe? I usually cook about 2 1/2 lbs of ground beef and wanna make sure it isn’t too much fluids.

      30. admin says:

I haven’t tried doubling the recipe. Too much liquid could be an issue.

      31. admin says:

        This is correct.

      32. Kelly says:

Made this for supper tonight – easy to make AND tastes great! Love the sauce!

      33. hub says:

Meatloaf is one of the easiest things to make. Anything goes.

      34. hub says:

A good sauce is easy to make as well: Make a rue (flour and butter), salt/pepper to taste, add milk and brown sugar. If the rue is too thin just add more flour. Kids love it because of the brown sugar.

      35. Angel says:

The first time I made this I used beef and the second time I used turkey. My family did not see a difference. My go to meatloaf!

      36. Lisa says:

Do you have to cover it with aluminum?

      37. admin says:

        I didn’t.

      38. Terry says:

My second go with this recipe.. YUM… its my favorite now… thanks for sharing this…. You really need to try this if you haven’t already!

      39. Gretchen Hopkins says:

Sounds great and looks tasty! Going to give it a try tonite

      40. Sandra Northrup says:

Trying this recipe tonight. It looks yummy!

      41. Tosin Adewunmi says:

This was my first attempt at making meatloaf. Thank you so much for this amazingly yummy recipe. It was so good! My husband wasn’t home when I was making it so when I served it to him he asked if it was store bought store. In my proud voice I said “Nope, I made it from scratch!” he said it was really good. My picky 3 years old and my 17 months old cleaned up their plates and went on to eat more from their dad’s plate. Yeah! it was that good!

      42. Susan B says:

Instead of cooking in loaf pan could you form it and cook in a foil lined pan to let the fat drain out of it? I guess using turkey instead would help with that.

      43. admin says:

I haven’t tried either of these techniques with this recipe but that doesn’t mean they wont work – this recipe with turkey would be interesting. If you try it let me know how it turns out.

      44. Tonya Ward says:

This looks good. Iam going to try and mske this tomorrow. I love seeing your recipes. Keep it going thank you

      45. So glad I found this recipe, it is like the one my aunt use to make , haven’t had it since she passed. My sister and I hae tried different ways to make this meat loaf and now I know why it didn’t taste like my aunts , left out the apple cider. Thank You so much for posting this.

      46. Sandra says:

Have this in the oven right now. Smells yum!

      47. Jenna says:

I made this with the worcestershire sauce instead of vinegar and made an extra 1/2 batch of sauce and it was awesome!!! All my family have asked for the recipe

      48. Debbie says:

This looks like my recipe except I top mine with a good bbq sauce. I use (sweet baby rays) and it always makes great sandwiches the next day. YUM!
