Deep Dark Mocha Chocolate Cake Recipe
Deep Dark Chocolate. Rich and moist. This has to be one of the best. A very simple recipe with a rich chocolate flavor. Once you try this recipe you will never buy a boxed chocolate cake mix again.

Deep Dark Mocha Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup black coffee
  • 1/2 cup canola oil (or any vegetable oil)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch pans.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla, beat on medium speed with an electric mixer for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour into prepared pans.
  6. Bake 30-35 minutes. Insert a table knife into the center. When it comes out clean the cakes are done.
  7. Cool thoroughly before frosting.
  8. Frost with your favorite frosting.

    Hi just want to ask, base on the ingredients it says 1cup coffee can I use instant coffee as in powder or 1 cup dissolve in water ? Just asking for I am a self studying trying hard baker 🙂

      use dissolved in water to equal 1 cup
