Chicken Stir fry Recipe


It has been awhile since I have prepared ant type of Asian food and for some reason this Chicken Stir fry Recipe sounded good. We have been eating a little on the heavy side and something on the light side was on the menu. This recipe is a delicious combination of chicken and vegetables, and chances are you may have all the ingredients on hand for preparing this recipe. When I prepared this, I didn’t think 2 tablespoons of soy sauce was going to be enough; but it was perfect. Serve with your choice of brown or white recipe.   • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons olive (or cooking oil) oil, divided
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup sliced celery (1/2 inch pieces)
  • 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
  • 1 small onion sliced (I used a sweet red onion for this)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
  • 8 0z package sliced mushrooms (optional)
  1. Cut chicken into ½-in. strips and place in a reseal able plastic bag.
  2. Add cornstarch and toss to coat.
  3. Combine soy sauce, ginger and garlic powder in a separate bowl, then add to bag and shake well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of oil; stir-fry chicken until no longer pink; Remove and keep warm.
  5. Add remaining oil; stir- fry broccoli, celery, carrots, mushrooms and onion for 4-5 minutes or until crisp-tender.
  6. Add water and bouillon. Return chicken to pan. Cook and stir until thickened.
  7. Serve over hot rice-enjoy

Asian snow pea recipe

This type of pea can be found year around in most supermarkets. The main difference between a snow pea and a sugar snap pea; is that you eat the whole pea-shell and all. Convert this into a stir fry by adding some beef steak, garlic, and a few other ingredients; turns this mixture into a delicious Asian Snow Pea Recipe. As far as heat goes, this recipe is mildly spiced-if you want to crank it up a bit, add some red pepper flakes to taste. I served this Asian Snow Pea dish over rice for dinner.   • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root

  • 1 pound beef round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 8 ounces snow peas
  1. Directions
  2. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium high heat. Stir-fry ginger and garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the steak and stir-fry for 2 minutes or until evenly browned.
  5. Add the snow peas and stir-fry for an additional 3 minutes.
  6. Add the soy sauce mixture, bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Lower heat and simmer until the sauce is thick and smooth.
  7. Serve over hot rice.

Chinese Pork Chow Mein Recipe

Chinese Pork Chow Mein Recipe
We live a long way from any type of Chinese Restaurant. Unless we are planning a shopping trip and want to eat out – If we want it, we have to cook it. 99% of the time it is better anyway. This Chinese Pork Chow Mein Recipe is excellent. The pork is so tender it melts in your mouth. It’s a little time consuming but well worth the effort. Chinese Pork Chow Mein Recipe

  • 1½ lbs lean pork, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped (optional)
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce (divided, more is desired)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1¾ cups water, divided
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon molasses (do NOT omit)
  • 1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts
  • 1 lb bean sprouts (or more)
  • 1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 bunch green onion (optional)

  1. Cut meat into thin strips.
  2. Combine 2 tbsp cornstarch with sugar, blend in 1 tbsp soy sauce and 2 tbsp oil; mix to blend.

  5. In a wok or large sauté pan heat 2 tablespoons shortening; brown the meat lightly on all sides in hot shortening, add in the chopped garlic and sauté for 2 minutes.

  7. Add remaining 4 tbsp soy sauce and 1-1/2 cups water; simmer, covered on low heat for 45 minutes.
  8. Add in the celery and onions; simmer for 15 minutes more.

  10. In a small bowl, blend in remaining cornstarch with ¼ cup water; stir into meat mixture.
  11. Add molasses, water chestnuts, bean sprouts and mushrooms and heat thoroughly.
  12. Season with salt and pepper.

  14. Chow Mein Noodles.

Looking at this simple pepper steak recipe it looks quite lengthy. But actually it is pretty simple and doesn’t take that long to prepare. This recipe is kind of different. It calls for diced tomatoes which is kind of unusual, but gives it a unique flavor. If you like pepper steak give this recipe a try. It is very colorful for company and it tastes great.

  • 1 lb beef top round steak, cut 1 inch thick
  • 3. 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 stalk celery, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, drained.
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ¼ cup cold water

  2. Slice the beef into 3 inch strips ¼ inch wide.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in skillet on medium high, add onion and garlic, cook until tender. Set on the side.
  4. Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet and brown the steak.
  5. Add remaining oil and sauté

  7. Remove with a slotted spoon.
  8. Add the broth, soy sauce, sugar and ground pepper to the skillet, stir
  9. well.
  10. Return beef, onion and garlic to skillet and simmer for 30 minutes.
  11. Add celery, bell pepper and tomatoes.
  12. Cover and cook until celery and peppers are crisp tender.
  13. Dissolve the cornstarch in cold water.
  14. Stir into the skillet stirring constantly until thickened. minutes.
  15. Serve over brown or white rice.
